Our New Engine Test Stand

Dynomite Diesel has recently purchased an engine test stand.  This tool came to us from  Screamin Seaman Off-Road. Its intended use is for all of our engines to be broke in and tested before they are shipped to you!  Advantages to our engine test stand are:

1)    Studs will get heat-cycled and re-torqued before install of the engine saving the installer hours of labor.

2)    Oil pressure will be documented.

3)     Any oil and coolant leaks will be found and fixed before engine ever sees a crate.

4)    Crankcase pressure and blow-by metered.

5)    Camshaft already broken in.

6)      Valve lash set after run time.

We just returned from the long road trip from Washington to Minnesota and back with this stand and also some engine dollies.  The stand and dollies had not been painted when we took possession of them.  We’ve decided to paint the dollies red and have disassembled the test stand to be powder coated in red as well.    See the “our engine test  stand” section to follow progress of the assembly of the stand as well as different projects as we progress in use of the stand.
