The better option depends on whether the truck can remain out of service, how quickly replacement injectors are needed, and whether the original cores satisfy the return requirements. Understanding the process before ordering helps buyers compare the real upfront cost and protect the expected refund.

The charge is separate from the price of the remanufactured injector because the final transaction depends on receiving a rebuildable core. Once Dynomite Diesel receives and accepts the return, it issues the applicable account credit or payment-card refund under its published policy.
Buyers comparing remanufactured diesel injectors and fuel-system components should include the core charge in their initial cash-flow planning, even when they expect to receive the full amount back.
Paying upfront allows the replacement order to move forward without waiting for the injectors currently in the truck to arrive at Dynomite Diesel first. This option is often more practical for a work truck, towing vehicle, customer repair, or any build where extended downtime creates a larger cost than temporarily carrying the core charge.
After the replacement injectors are installed, the original components can be packaged and returned with the required paperwork. The buyer must still meet the condition and timing requirements to receive the expected refund.
The important tradeoff is straightforward: the buyer commits more money at checkout but avoids making the shipment of an in-stock replacement order dependent on advance core receipt.
Dynomite Diesel also permits customers to return cores in advance. This avoids the upfront core charge, but the replacement order will ship only after the cores have been received, assuming the ordered product is in stock.
This path can make sense for an engine that is already disassembled, a planned build without an immediate deadline, or a buyer who prefers to reduce the initial transaction amount. It is less attractive when waiting for inbound and outbound shipping would leave a working truck unavailable for too long.
Before choosing this option, customers should contact Dynomite Diesel about core eligibility and current product availability. An advance shipment does not remove the need for the cores to satisfy the company’s condition requirements.
A full refund depends on cores being in rebuildable condition. Dynomite Diesel’s published policy identifies fire damage, water damage, broken components, disassembly, and missing parts or pieces as conditions that can prevent full credit. The manufacturer determines the amount of credit available for cores affected by those conditions.
A core should therefore be treated as a valuable component after removal. A returned box containing incomplete or physically damaged injectors may not carry the same value as a complete, rebuildable set.
This is also why a core return is different from a general product return. The core is evaluated for its suitability in a remanufacturing process, not simply for whether a package arrived at the facility.
Under Dynomite Diesel’s current policy, acceptable cores returned within 45 days qualify for a 100% core refund. Cores returned between 45 days and six months qualify for a 50% refund. After six months, acceptance and refund are at Dynomite Diesel’s discretion.
That timeline should be included in the installation plan. Delays involving shop scheduling, missing paperwork, or leaving removed injectors unshipped can materially reduce the refund. Buyers should not treat the core deadline as an open-ended return window.
Dynomite Diesel states that an accepted core refund is usually processed within approximately two weeks after receipt. Shipping time and the company’s review period should be distinguished from the deadline for returning the core.
Dynomite Diesel requires the Core Return Form supplied with the order and a copy of the original receipt inside the package. Missing documentation can delay processing or prevent the company from matching the return to the original purchase.
The policy also requires fluids to be drained, protective plugs or caps to be placed on the returned components, and the core to be contained so residual fuel or oil cannot leak during shipment. Extremely dirty cores may be subject to a cleaning fee.
Customers are asked to send the shipment’s tracking number to the sales email listed in the Dynomite Diesel core-return policy. The complete policy should be reviewed before packaging or shipping any component.
Whether a core charge applies depends on the specific product. New components, remanufactured injectors, nozzle services, and customer-owned injector modifications are different transactions. Buyers should read the individual product page rather than assuming every injector purchase follows the same core structure.
